It’s a fact that my love of opening packages borders on the slightly irrational. Of course, the thought behind the gift is the most important, but the excitement of the whole unwrapping process- from admiring the pretty bow to wondering what surprise is in store – gets me every time.
I look for a lot of creative gift wrap ideas and Christmas gift tags. Brown paper packages tied up with strings truly are one of my favorite things!
Naturally I put a lot of time into coordinating with these free printable rustic Christmas tags. They have with adorable lodge tartan prints and natural elements, and I am sharing them with you today!
Recommended Supplies
Ready to get started? Plaid reigns supreme this Christmas season and I’m loving it. In fact, I did a whole Scottish Christmas Theme this year for our tablescape.
- An inkjet printer
- Cardstock or Printable Glitter paper
- Scissors or a craft knife and cutting mat
- Hole punch (Save your hands from all the squeezing with this one).
- Twine or Ribbon
Note: This project has taught me that glitter is quite difficult to photograph. These gift tags look beautiful in person! The paper is glittery for a sweet touch of whimsy. I chose white glitter for its snowy effect.
How to Use these Printable Christmas Tags
- Download the PDF file (at the bottom of this post) to your computer.
- Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader.
- Go to File - Print.
- Print on cardstock. You can print at home or at a copy shop.
- Cut out the tags using scissors or using a craft knife and cutting mat.
- Punch a hole through the tags where desired.
- Thread the twine or ribbon through the hole and tie it around the gift.
